Double Die Franklin Half Dollar Error
Franklin Double Die errors are pretty common, but still increase the value of your silver half dollar. DDO (Double die Obverse) and DDR (Double Die Reverse) errors occur when the planchet is struck more than 1 time.
To find double die errors look at the edge of the numbers, letters, and profiles on the coins.
The image attached is of a DDR Franklin Half Dollar and if you click the image to enlarge it you will see the letters have doubling.
