Off Center Strike Roosevelt Dime Error


Off Center Strike Roosevelt dime errors occurred when the planchet was struck the die off center in any directions. The result is a left over blank section of the planchet that has no markings visible.

These are sometimes given an offset percentage as well. Something like 10% off center, or 50% off center. Where 50% off center would be roughly half of the coin blank.

Common Questions

Pre 1965 on the reverse center bottom above the letter E. Denver (D), and San Francisco (S) mint marks can be found. Lack of any mint mark indicates the coin was minted in Philadelphia (P). After 1965 on the front bottom right. P,D,S mint marks. Even Philadelphia had a mark present after 1965.
