Who is on the Franklin Half Dollar Coin?

Founding Father Benjamin Franklin sits proudly on the Silver Franklin Half Dollar. Most people think old man Franklin was a president, but he was not. Ben was an amazing inventor and author. Ben Franklin appears to be a character of sorts. He wrote under several pseudonyms (fake names) the most popular being Silence Dogood or Mrs. Dogood. Benjamin Franklin invented the Lightning Rod, Bifocals, Swim Fins, even the Urinary Catheter. It seems old Ben was a bit of an eccentric and thats why we like the Franklin Half Dollars so much.
