Off Center Lincoln Penny Error
These errors are universal across all years for both wheat and Lincoln cents. When a die strikes a penny planchet off center, either to the right, top, bottom, or below it creates whats known as an offcenter penny strike.
While color and condition play a large role in the value of this error, the percentage of offcenterness, is the most important factor. I feel like we just made the word offcenterness up, but we are going to just roll with it.
Off center is usually listed as a percentage, with the image attached being somewhere around 30% to 40% off.
